Door te experimenteren op het podium en in de studio, hebben ontdekkingen op vlak van klank en design mij en het begaafde team bij MM in staat gesteld om door de jaren heen de kenmerken van de JP bij te werken en te verbeteren. De 13 markeert de eerste keer dat een preamp circuit in deze gitaar is geïntroduceerd, samen met een solo boost die gemakkelijk kan worden bereikt via de volumeknop. Het verbeterde toonbereik en de openheid zijn merkbaar en welkom vanaf het moment dat je het aansluit. - John Petrucci
