De Silhouette Special is voorzien van een elzen body met stijvolle contouren in een compacte H-S-S pickup configuratie. De DiMarzio virtuele PAF in de brug en custom wound DiMarzio single coil pickups in de nek en het midden leveren een breed scala aan toonopties, variërend van hard edge crunch tot felle highs. De Silhouette Special heeft ook een comfortabele "C" vormige esdoorn hals met 22 frets en is uitgerust met Music Man's gepatenteerde Silent Circuit voor een hum-free single coil ervaring.
