Bekend vanwege zijn iets kleinere body en neckprofiel, maar de Sterling 4-snarige bas heeft een groot geluid. 9 volt actieve 3-bands EQ preamp, 3 posities pickup keuzeschakelaar en een keramische humbucker met hum cancellerende phantom coil zijn standaard op de Sterling, waardoor deze bas door elke mix kan snijden. Optionele extra elementen in de neckpositie dragen alleen maar bij aan de veelzijdigheid van deze innovatieve bas.
