Net als zijn 4-snarige tegenhanger, heeft de Sterling 5 een groot geluid in een kleiner, meer ergonomisch ontwerp. 9 volt actieve 3-bands EQ, 3 positieselectiekiezer en een keramische humbucker met hum cancellerende phantom coil zijn standaard op de Sterling 5, waardoor deze bas het door elke mix kan snijden. Een extra humbucker in de neckpositie is optioneel en draagt alleen maar bij aan de tonale veelzijdigheid. De Sterling 5 is comfortabel en compact en kan een breed muzikaal landschap bestrijken, allemaal met het precieze vakmanschap en de aandacht voor detail die u van Ernie Ball Music Man mag verwachten.
